Laura Seixas is an award-winning Portuguese film director. She has directed several short-films including Belonging and Let There Be Light, all of which have been selected to play at major festivals, such as Festival de Cannes, Rhode Island International, NYC Indie and Sharjah International Children Film Festival.
Recently she developed and co-directed an award winning mini series called Dreaming Whilst Black for 4Quarter Films where she received several awards for directing. The series has been selected for over 33 festivals and received over 65 nominations and 36 wins.
Laura has been developing in the last few years several projects like her first feature, A Carrinha, an international co-production with Take it Easy (Portugal). She is also working with a company in the United States, Foreign Nationals, for a second feature entitled, Salomé.
More recently, Laura joined Film Strike for Climate where she coordinates the content production. She is also working with her mentor Marian Sanchez Carniglia on her Storytelling Studio.
SHINE A LIGHT
Directed and produced a short documentary on ADHD for MiND, a european organisation for researching ADHD and autism.

LET THERE BE LIGHT
Directed and produced this sci-fi mockumentary short-film for the Portuguese Physics Society within the scope of the International
Year of Light. The short was part of the Creative Mind section in Cannes Festival 2016.
DREAMING WHILST BLACK
Directed the first and eighth episode of the award-winning mini series by 4Quarter Films. The show has been awarded best web series at LAL Film Festival 2018. Also got nominated for several other festivals including ITV Fest and for best director on UK Web Fest.
BOCA DO INFERNO
Directed a graduate project for Met Film School. The film has been selected for the Student
Art Festival in Florida, UCDI Film Festival, Faro Film Festival, Visionaria Film Festival and First Step Film Festival.
Directed and produced an award-winning script. The film is part of the official selection of RIFF 2015, NYCIFF 2015, Sharjah International Children Film Festival 2016 and participated at the Short Film Corner
2015. It has also won the 1st prize for the script at Shore Scripts 2014.
Directing and writing her first feature film in co-production with Take It Easy Filmes and Buriti Filmes and support from RTP.
